Small business
Coverage for small teams and the self-employed, explained before it's sold.
Whether it's just you, you and your family, or a team of a dozen, there are more options than a traditional group plan. I'll lay out what each would cost, what it covers, and what it commits you to.
Options
What I can set up
- Small group health
- A traditional group plan for your team, with carriers compared side by side and dental, vision, and life added where they make sense.
- ICHRA
- An individual coverage HRA. You set a monthly allowance and employees buy their own individual plans with it. Your cost is fixed and predictable.
- QSEHRA
- A simpler reimbursement arrangement for employers with fewer than 50 employees. You reimburse premiums and medical costs up to annual limits set by the IRS.
- Individual and family plans
- Marketplace and off-exchange coverage for the self-employed and for owners who aren't covered by a group plan.
- Dental, vision, life, and disability
- Coverage employees notice and value, offered on its own or alongside a health plan.
- Help choosing
- If you're not sure which of these fits, that's what the first call is for.
Approach
Why work with me
Small businesses usually get the least analysis and the most sales pitch. You get the same approach I bring to large employers: what each option costs this year, what it's likely to cost next year, and what you're giving up for the savings.
On most fully insured small-group and individual plans, the premium is the same whether you use a broker or not. I'm paid a commission by the carrier, and I'll show you what it is on each option before you decide.
