Kadin Llewellyn GBA

Independent benefits broker · Nashville & Middle Tennessee

I started working in employee benefits in 2018 and have since served clients ranging from major hospital systems and manufacturers of every size to universities and small religious organizations.

Most of that time was spent on the analytical side: underwriting review, renewal and cost projections, plan modeling, carrier and vendor comparison, and RFP work. Llewellyn Benefit Consulting is an independent brokerage built on that foundation.

I hold the GBA (Group Benefits Associate) designation from the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School.

Why I became a broker

I started my career on a small team that billed hourly for benefits analysis. The work was rigorous, and clients valued it. But an analyst can only tell you what the numbers say. Somebody else negotiates the renewal, takes the group to market, and places the coverage.

I wanted to do both. As a broker I can read the underwriting and then act on it: push back on the carrier, bring you better options, and see the decision through to enrollment.

Commission is how brokers are paid, and I don't pretend it isn't an incentive. That's why I show you what I earn on every option before you choose. You get the analysis and the compensation in writing, and you make the call. If the right answer is to keep your current plan, that's what I'll tell you.

Practice

How I work

Independent
Not captive to any one carrier. I quote the carriers I'm appointed with and recommend on the merits.
Compensation
Paid by carrier commission, disclosed on every option before you decide.
Capacity
I keep my client list short so each one gets the attention the work requires.
References
Available on request. I won't publish invented quotes, and prior client work belongs to a former employer.
